Advice From The Comic Hack 160 – The “This Is Our Thanksgiving Tradition” Edition

Advice From The Comic Hack 158 – The Life is Just A Fantasy But Your Fantasies Don’t Have To Become Your Life Edition

According to Wikipedia Swami X was an American boardwalk performer and stand-up comedian. Active from the 1970s to 1985 He quipped “Sex is not the answer. Sex is the question. “Yes” is the answer.” Sex can get so complicated so easily. You’d imagine that on its simplest level it’s merely “insert tab a into slot b” but let us not forget the world of options out there; all the tabs, slots, square pegs, round holes, curlicues and  flapping tongues just ending-up willy-nilly everywhere. Charles Beaudelaire, French poet and author of “Flowers of Evil”  told us that “Sexuality is the lyricism of the masses.” World famous, groundbreaking sexologist Alfred Kinsey, a 1950’s proto-libertine and creator of the surprisingly-named Kinsey Scale of Human Sexuality reassures us that “The only unnatural sex act is that which you cannot perform” Today a Darling Reader poses a thorny question about some fantasies making them insecure. Should I be concerned? Should I be embarrassed? Should I try to see if I can get her wife to “play along”? The situation has become pretty hard for me. I briefly considered teasing you and reminding you that – essentially – there are three windows for the Average American Male to realize he’s a homosexual. Those windows are: pretty much at birth or first sexual self-awareness; at puberty; or as part of an overall mid-life crisis. So how old are you now Darling Reader? The reason why I am not pursuing this comedic line is because first, I didn’t want anyone to assume I had any homophobic biases – or to feel that I thought admitting to yourself that you’re homosexual – or as most of us are –  not ranked at one of...
